Not long before Christian Dietert and his family emigrated from Germany to the Hill Country, Apache raiding parties still roamed the area. In 1857 the Dietert family arrived and established large grist and saw mills and eventually procured a 20,000 acre spread in what is now Real County.  The 4,365+ acre 4-Aces Ranch is part of this historic property.

Improvements:  Ranch Improvements include: the Lodge with 8 bedrooms and 9 baths, game proof high fencing, a newly constructed steel barn on slab, 5 wells with cisterns that gravity feed water via 8 miles of pipe to troughs throughout the ranch, 2 large feed bins, walk-in cooler, set of working pens, and foreman’s 4 bedroom, 3 bath double wide. The old historic Dietert House and the remains of school are still present. An extensive cedar eradication program is currently in place.
